volunteer information

Bear River Junior Bruins is an all-volunteer organization. We cannot do it without you!

BRJB requires each family to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per player (20 hours per family) of volunteering each season.

On Document Collection day, there will be two $125 volunteer checks required for each player.

We have put together a list of jobs available, including a job description for each and those are listed below.

There will be several BRJB special events that may also be available if you are not able to fulfill your hours during our Saturday games. Many communications will be sent out throughout the season to offer these positions, so please be sure to read those emails!

And lastly Board Members, coaches, and team parents are not required to complete extra hours for their children, as the hours they contribute far exceed the required hours asked for each year.

*JOB LISTS*

ANNOUNCER Home Games
A great way to have some fun and get involved! Come be the voice of BRJB for a game, a day or
the whole season! The announcer voices the visitor team welcome, games facilitations (general
announcements) introductions of the players, cheerleaders and any staff or game guests as well as the
play by play of games. Announcers are best to have some knowledge of the game for narration but
analysis is not expected – if you are one to yell at the TV during the NFL, then you are good to go here!
Also, in the Broadcast booth there will be additional supporting volunteers to help with anything the
announcer needs as well as game records (such as time clock and scoreboard). This is a great fit for
anyone willing to speak up and get one of the best seats in the house!

Please ARRIVE 15 MIN EARLY for your shift.

CLOCK / SPOTTER Home Games
Another great way to score a box seat - run the time clock and scoreboard. This is a great way to
volunteer and stay out of the weather (whatever that may be – scorching sun or the chilly fall). This
person also helps the announcer spot the game. **Note times**

Please ARRIVE 15 MIN EARLY for your shift.

CHAIN GANG Away Games
The Chain Gang are the much-needed volunteers who work the sidelines during away games, either
holding the chains or the downs poles. This work gets you the best vantage point of the game!.

A note on away games: Hate the idea of driving to an away game just for one game – here is a
great opportunity for you; volunteer to work the chains at one (or a couple) of the day’s games. Let your
player or cheerleader, cheer on their friends for a game before or after yours!

Please ARRIVE 15 MIN EARLY for your shift.

FILM Home Games and Away Games
Catch the action! We need someone to record the game on film. BRJB will supply the video
camera and tripod – all we need is you. This position is for both home and away games. The resulting films
are used for the team as well as the league for various purposes. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a
cinematographer, just keep your lens on the game. Still not sure - we got you; we will be sure you
have all the details of what to capture before kickoff.

Please ARRIVE 15 MIN EARLY for your shift.

GATE Home Games
A face up front – work the entrance gate. This is as volunteer friendly as it gets! Welcome
players, parents and guests to the BRJB home field. Volunteers are needed to accept entry fees and
make change. This is another great way to get in volunteer hours while your player or cheerleader gets
ready or hangs out the game before or after they take the field.

Please ARRIVE 15 MIN EARLY for your shift.

SNACK SHACK PREP AND GAME SETUP Home Games
Get those volunteer hours out of the way! Are you an early riser?
This might be perfect for you. Volunteers for this shift arrive early, before the first home game to assist with food prep in the  snack shack and a few setup tasks for game day. Slicing
tomatoes and pop-up tent setup are on this list.

Please ARRIVE 10 MIN EARLY for your shift.

SNACK SHACK
 Home Games (During the game)
You guessed it – another way to pass the time while your player or cheerleader is getting ready,
cooling down or hanging with their friends. Don’t kid yourself – the snack shack is one of the best places
to work on game day!
3 options to choose from :

Zone 1 is the front window

Zone 2 is prepping the food, building nachos etc.

Zone 3 is bbqing and bbq helper

Please ARRIVE 10 MIN EARLY for your shift.

SNOW CONES Home Game
Volunteer to work the snow cone machine – really the machine does all the hard work… just
scoop the ice and add the syrup. Yes, it can get a little sticky, but in the best way as kids do!

Please ARRIVE 10 MIN EARLY for your shift.
